Q: What is the blade made of?
A: My blades are made of CPM steels. These are high alloy and stainless steels. I use CPM 154, CPM D2, CPM S30V, and CPM 3V.
Q: What materials do you use for the handles?
A: I use Micarta, G-10, stabilized exotic wood, mammoth ivory, and giraffe bone for scale material. Micarta and G-10 are the most durable of the handle materials.
Q: What should I use to sharpen your knives?
A: I find leather strop is the best thing to keep a keen edge on your blade. The Spyderco Sharpmaker also works well.
Q: Is a sheath included?
A: I do not include a sheath in the price of the knife. I do make Kydex sheaths upon request. Prices vary based on blade length.
Q: Is there a guarantee on your knives?
A: I guarantee your satisfaction with my knives. If you are dissatisfied with the knife that I made you for any reason at all, you may return it within 30 for replacement or 100% refund. All knives are covered for materials and workmanship until such time as I am no longer physically able to make knives. This warranty is transferable. So, if you purchase one of my knives on the secondary market, it will still be covered by my full warranty. This warranty does NOT cover abuse such as throwing, using as a pry-bar, screwdriver, or chisel OR modifications to the knife. Handles made from natural materials, such as wood, bone, horn, and antler, are subject to shrinking, cracking and checking as a natural process of aging and changing environmental conditions. I consider this to be normal wear and tear on a knife. But, if the handle ever develops a problem through normal use, I will be glad to repair the damage.
Q: How much do your knives cost?
A: The cost of my knives varies based on the steel used, the handle material, and the length of the blade. Typically, a 3” bladed knife is $200 and you can add $50 per inch of blade as a base price.
Q: What are my payment options?
A: I take PayPal and US Postal Money orders as payment. Once your knife is ready for delivery, you will receive an emaiI with an invoice attached. You will have the option of paying by PayPal or mailing me a US Postal Money Order as payment. I do not accept or require deposits for knife orders. Payment is due upon completion of the knife.
Q: How do I place an order?
A: Emailing me or calling me is the best option.
Q: How do you ship your knives?
A: I ship my knives USPS Priority mail with Signature Confirmation. The price of shipping is included in the knife. Additional shipping charges will apply for shipping out of the continental United States.
